Library Card FAQ’s

Delaware Residents

Residents with a valid Delaware ID or own property in the state are entitled to a free library card, which can be used in any of Sussex, Kent County’s, or New Castle County’s public libraries.

Non-Residents

Non-residents may obtain a card, good for one year, for a $25 fee. The card entitles the user full library privilages including databases and statewide library use.

A Visitor’s Card is a $10 fee which is good for 30 days for non-residents who would also like to borrow books and use the library’s computers.

Computer Guest Pass

Free to use the library computers for 60 minutes. A photo ID is required for all registrations.

Please Note:

  • The physical card must be present to checkout materials and use computers
  • Lost cards can be replaced for $2.00

Please inquire at our circulation desk for more information. This card entitles the user to borrow library materials and to access the Internet and databases available through the Delaware Library Catalog.
